Atc's, pencilroll and a swap.

Look at these cute ATC's...aren't they adorable? they were send
to me by the lovely Iris..she makes lots of them you can see
them on her blog.
Even the children liked them (the one in the front was for my
youngest boy). The oldest one didn't even let me take a picture
of his one...they are really cute, tiny and so detailed! Thank you
Iris! a little something comes your way...almost finished :)

A couple of nights before I promised my oldest boy to make
him a pencil roll since he spent the whole day colouring. He
really likes it! It's so nice that you''re own handwork turns out
to be so usefull.

I'm planning to do more sewing but I ran out of labels...hmmm
I ordered them already but it'll take a couple of weeks till they
arrive...maybe I can finally sew the curtains for my boys room...
hmm not a bad idea at all!

And then the swap. I was just reading some blogs (the children are
asleep) and came around Kate's blog.... a couple of days ago she
wrote this lovely toadstool tutorial and now she is hosting a
toadstool swap! I'm totally in love with toadstools (or actually
anything which is red and has white dots as you all know of course :))
so I had to sign up. The season here is not really toadstool'ish but
I'll forget about that and strawberries and all and make a pretty
toadstool! You'll see my progress overhere of course.

Now have a lovely sunny day! I'm going to do some more potatoe-
planting and watering the little plants in our 'moestuin' (vegetable garden).

out in the vegetable garden...

It has nothing to do with fabric but we enjoyed our afternoon
so much I have to show you a little of it..

Here are the boys playing around..I try to not say no to
anything they do out there...just let them... Most of the
times this works so well...After more then 3 hours they
didn't want to go home...hope it stays that way during the
summer... You can see the first salad plants growing and
some onions..

And here our first flowers...strawberries!! We can't wait to
harvest them but it'll take a while...those tiny white leaves
are sooo clean and crisp..love it! Can you imagine to have
these as sheets on your bed...

And my dotted wellies...I couldn't resist buying these...and
they are well used already. First in the mud on our camping
space and now in our garden... they make me happy! (am
I crazy...??)

Then I want to say thank you to all of you for commenting
and visiting my blog. Lately I don't have the time to reply
every single comment but I try to visit your blogs and leave
a message when possible. I just want to tell you that your
comments and visits are so rewarded. It makes me feel
much more confident about this whole 'being a crafty
mother' experience... thanx fo all your support! Can't say it
enough that it's so appreciated. And a special thanx to
my sweet mum who always believes in me! Thank you
mama for all your support!! and for my dear friend Loes
a big hug and a special thanx too for the same reasons...

Ok and before I start to reflect on my whole life I'd better
finish this text and go to my studio to get some work done!

Red Strawberries and red & fruity Babushka

First strawberries of the year... No not yet out of our own garden... but still a little party was it for the kids..they love this red red fruit!


After all this red lovelyness I got so inspired... made this red and fruity babushka softy!

Since me and the kids will leave this weekend to run my parents hotel the sewing machine is enjoying a break too... Hope that next week I'll have lots of time to spend in my studio...

Besides but not at all unimportant... I'm so overwhelmed, exited and just sooo happy with the amount of visitors and commenters on my blog! Thank you all so much! (Special thanks to Ravenhill!) It makes me soo so happy! I'm planning on doing a little giveaway very soon... So please check my blog the next week orso so you can join my very first giveaway...

Now I'm going to make a hot cup of tea to warm my hands..it's cold and windy and raining... not so much spring signs over here lately....

Spring

Spring is in the air! Everywhere you see the bulbs coming out of the black earth... trees begin to blossom...the first lambs are born.. But still it's damn cold out here and raining too much.. In a little moment of sunshine I hopped outside to make a picture of these two little cuties. They're made out of felt after a pattern by Mieke Stenders.
I think I didn't tell you yet that we started our vegetable garden. We rent this place to grow are own fruit and vegetables but most of all to enjoy all kind of weather and see everything grow and make the children more appreciate the food we're eating every day. Altough there's still nothing more than a little path and soil they enjoy it already. My 4-year old once said: "Mum, I want to go to the big garden to play with nothing... " I think that says it all....
I took a little break from sewing... But now I found this cute pattern on the Yvestown-blog
and I think I'll start right away making some... Would be so cute for our eastern-brunch!
