Yesterday we celebrated ' Sint Jan' or MId Summer at 5-year old's school. First we took our bicycle for an hour trip to the woods. There we walked a lovely path that brought us at a big farmer's field where we sat down to picknick. There was lots of yummy food like strawberry cake, pancakes, cherries etc.
After that we pulled rope, danced and sung a lot of happy summer songs accompanied by the accordeon. It was really joyful there out in the sunny fields.Do you see my skirt? I made it myself from a vintage curtain...It was something I wanted to do for a long time (and on the summer-to-do-list also) and it was really simple actually!
This all ended so lovely by this ride... for a moment I thought we were in Sweden....
A lovely start of a hopefully long and hot summer!
Enjoy your summer !!

ahh, sweet memories return..
St Jan was mijn favoriete jaarfeest vroeger.
Ziet er heerlijk uit, en je rok is PRACHTIG! Waar heb je het patroon vandaan?
Hele leuk boekenleggers! En wat ziet de picknick er gezellig uit! Zelfde als Ballee.. Geweldige rok! Leuke stof ook.
It sure does look like you had a wonderful day. Your skirt looks great - your little ones are just beautiful. I love the red checked cloth - very bright and cheerful. Your photos are amazing with the vibrant colours.

Hoi Erna,
Ik voeg me in de rij: je rok is heel mooi. Ben ook nieuwsgierig naar het patroon.
