Pillows that (don't) match

I had been a while since I didn't fel asleep on the couch after putting the kids to bed...to 'celebrate' the peace and quietness in the house I made this knight pillow...very soft and very big. You can get it here.
That's also the place where I bought this cushion yesterday. I totally fell in love with it and sort of grabbed it of the shelf and took it home with me.

Remember this swap? I used some of the fabrics to make this cushion...very sweet and it matches the white wooden couch so well!

But now my dilemma...or maybe it's not just mine but yours too? Ok let me explain. One day I'm in a 'red' mood and want anything and everything in my house to look bright and red. I want to buy new mugs for coffee and new sheets for on my bed. I want red tulips on the table and a red pyama to put on at night...but then...the other day red is no longer what it was...and I want to change everything to white and pastel colours...

'Ok you can do that' I hear you think. 'What's the problem with that? '

well, you know, I just want my whole house to match...like the coffee mugs should match with the towels in the bathroom and the rainboots of my sun should match the curtains in his room...in that kind of 'matching'way. But with all these different kind of styles I want my house, and my life, to look like in such a short while...I think I have to grow towards another kind of style...not the red or the pastel or any other style I come across, but by mixing all these different colours and stuff they should become 'my style'...but that's easyer said then done...
However...when I saw this post and later this... I pulled out the handknotted woolen Turkish karpet out of the attic and put it on the flour next to my bright red couch...that doesn't mach at all!!At least not in my eyes for now. But although it might not be my own idea nor style...I think I made a major change to put the karpet in.

And you know..there are so much beautiful reasons to do that...like in that little village in the mountains of east Turkey where my husband grew up the flour was covered with karpets like this one; like it's nice and warm especially for those little feet in the house, like it's nice to lay on and play games...
I think above all it looks very cosy and that's all I want for my family this autumn and winter...

Lovely cushions. The green fabric with white dots is great. The green pillow makes me happy. First visit to the hospital today. Everything was fine! We are going to Sweden today and I will be back Monday evening. Take care, Mette
